Sharde’ is a travel and wellness blogger who loves exploring new places, reading and journaling outside, and shooting portraits of herself and others. A native of Orlando, Florida, Sharde’ graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee with a short stint at Lincoln College, Oxford University where she studied Medieval and Renaissance art and architecture. She went on to get her Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. She now is a PhD candidate in African American religion at Rice University in Houston, TX.
Sharde’ has spent the last ten years in education teaching from pre-k through college. She worked with the Children’s Defense from Freedom Schools program training college students to serve with underserved students during the summers. She is also ordained in the Baptist church but has worked across denominations as a Youth Minister.
In her spare time Sharde’ freelances as a photographer and hosts small wellness retreats for her friends and family. She loves to box, jog, practice her guitar skills, and occasionally paint. Sharde’ fashions herself a bit of a skincare guru, loving to take care of her own skin as a mode of self care. Always looking for a flight deal, she enjoys dragging her loved ones overseas on some of her travels and showing them her packing secrets. When she’s not working on her dissertation or teaching, she is mentoring girls, tutoring students in Spanish, or working on her website and YouTube channel.
